If you fancy a traditional British seaside break, head to the beautiful Brighton. With its long pebble beach, Victorian pier and boutique shopping, there is something for everyone in this vibrant city.
Must-Do Brighton

1. Go shopping in The Lanes:
In the maze of narrow, cobbled streets, hidden between Brighton's Victorian train station and the seafront, lie quirky shops, boutiques and cool cafés galore.
Stroll through the Lanes at your leisure, stop here and there for a decadent cupcake or a coffee, watch live jazz buskers and watch the world passing by.

2.Brighton Pier and beach:
On Brighton's sea front is a wide pebble beach and there are many beach cafés selling traditional fish and chips, ice creams and fresh seafood. On either side of the main beach, you'll see the piers.
The West Pier dates back to 1866, but shut down for restoration in 1975 and actually suffered 2 fires in 2003.
On the left side of the beach you can see Brighton Pier, built in 1899 and still going strong today. Take a stroll along it, past the candyfloss and doughnut stalls, through the amusement arcades and past the funfair rides- at the end on a clear day you may be able to see the French coast!
3.The Royal Pavilion:
This is one of the least expected buildings in Brighton. The Royal Pavilion is a former royal palace, built as a residence for the Prince Regent in the 1800s, who later became King George IV. He asked the architect John Nash to transform his Brighton residence into an oriental palace.
The palace is open to the public and has some incredible artefacts and extravagantly decorated interiors. Highlights include the Music Room, the Banqueting Room, the Royal Bedrooms and the Great Kitchen.
